Design

The design des MBW wrist should:

  • simplify the complex wrist arrangement which is successively placed in multiple positions,
  • maintain and/or restore the function of the natural wrist to the greatest possible extent,
  • prevent or minimise the transfer of erring forces (torsion and shear forces).

That requires among other properties:

  • a multi-axial manipulation and
  • a rolling slide.

The design of the ACAMO-PIP median finger joint endoprosthesis should:

  • have the capacity to absorb high torsion forces,
  • absorb translation forces and
  • allow a good bending capacity (by 90°).

That requires among other properties:

  • a diagonal-oval shaft form,
  • a rolling slide and
  • a forward tilt of the proximal endoprosthetic head.

The design of the MOLANA big-toe base joint endoprosthesis should:

  • introduce the least possible leverage force from the dorsal point to the endoprosthetic head,
  • achieve good dorsal flexion of 70° (at the intra-operative stage) and
  • not obstruct the Os Sesamoideum complex.

That requires among other properties:

  • a shift of the joint’s pivot point to the dorsal position,
  • a 10° forward tilt of the endoprosthetic head and
  • a plantar polished section of the endoprosthetic head.
